A U.S. District Court jury in Wichita awarded a Derby girl $1.1 million Tuesday for injuries she suffered in a 1993 wreck.
Alexis Rangle, 9, suffered broken legs when the station wagon she was riding in was hit by a semitrailer on I-35 near Billings, Okla., on Jan. 20, 1993, said her attorney, Brad Prochaska of Wichita.
The station wagon, heading north at about 10 mph in icy conditions, was hit from behind by the truck, owned by Builders Transport of South Carolina. The driver tried to avoid the crash but slid on the ice.
