Gait Training a Reality at Rainbows :: (11 18, 2005)

Thanks to generous support of local law firm, Prochaska, , Giroux & Howell, children at Rainbows United Rithcie Family Center will soon be able to enjoy a new and effective therapy known as partial weight bearing gait training.

Prochaska, Giroux & Howell are donating the funds necessary to purchase a Pediatric Lite Gait trainer, the accompanying treadmill, and underwrite the costs of training Rainbows' specialists to use the new equipment.

Gait training allows children to bear a portion of their weight on their feet while a therapist guides their legs through the motion of walking.  By improving lower body strength and coordination, children may in turn support themselves during dressing, bathroom stops, shopping and other common daily activites.

The law firm specializes in personal injury law, with a concetration in financially supporting children injured at birth or born with special needs and assisting families in planning for their child's future care.  The firm was established in 1987 and is located at 7701 E. Kellogg, Suite 415, in Wichita.
